Embracing Summer: Healing and Bonding

What made this summer truly special was the presence of my best friend. She understands me like no other, and our connection deepened with each shared moment. In her company, I felt safe to be vulnerable, and she provided a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on. As we navigated the ups and downs of life, we found strength in each other, knowing we weren’t alone in this journey.

As the warm breeze of summer wrapped around us, my best friend and I embarked on a much-needed escape. We went into the hustle and bustle of New York City. Being mothers, finding time for ourselves can be challenging, but we knew that these moments of joy and healing were essential for our well-being. Our summer days and nights consisted by the riverside became a sanctuary of laughter, drinks, yummy restaurants, and the ever-so-refreshing boba drinks that added an extra touch of magic to our cherished memories. We sang to Lady Gaga on the top of our lungs in the car, wishing it would never end. One more moment or one more song.

Our evenings here were filled with laughter and conversations that danced on the waves of the water. The sound of gentle water and the distant echoes of city life created a perfect harmony that soothed our souls.

We ventured into the bar/restaurant called Dinosaur BBQ seeking nothing but wonderful food and strong drinks. The vibrant setting offered an array of options to indulge in. Sipping on our cocktails plus trying different dishes made us step out of our comfort zones and appreciate the diverse flavors the city had to offer. Each drink and meal became a symbol of celebration, embracing the beauty of friendship and rejuvenation.

And of course, no summer is complete without boba drinks! The tantalizing sweetness of boba pearls combined with our favorite coffee flavor became our ultimate treat. With smiles on our faces, we sipped away our worries and relished the simple pleasure of being together.

Amidst the laughter and merriment, we realized how therapeutic these moments were for both of us. As mothers, we often put the needs of our families before our own, but these summer nights by the water reminded us of the importance of self-care and friendship. The healing power of laughter and companionship recharged our spirits, leaving us ready to face the challenges of motherhood with renewed energy.

Conclusion:
Our summer in NYC were nothing short of magical. These moments will forever hold a special place in my heart. As mothers, we may have limited time for ourselves, but finding moments like these to share with a best friend who understands you is truly priceless. In the end, it’s not just about the location or the activities, but the cherished memories and the sense of fulfillment that make these days so unforgettable.

Monday Weekly Tarot Pull: Anime NYC and Q&A

Two of Wands

Two of Wands: Preparation, Movement, Structure

Interesting that I drew this card considering where my life is at the moment. This card signifies organization that I need and asks that I create an outline to takes steps for my next moves. This can apply anywhere. It asks I draw energy from my passion and apply it to my real world life this week. Thatโ€™s exactly what I will do!

Life right now is neutral. There are days where Iโ€™m overwhelmed then I do my best to catch up. Whether it be personal or professionally. I am a little behind in my studies but Iโ€™m planning to get back on track with study groups and focusing on the tasks on hand. Wish me luck!

Anime NYC was definitely a lot of fun. I always recommend going to conventions with friends or meet new people as you go. The atmosphere is full of people with similar interests and excitement which is what I love about going to conventions. Seeing everyone dressed up and having fun. Being able to purchase merch and things you donโ€™t normally see is both amazing and expensive! Haha. Clearly there needs to be some self control at play when going to these things. Overall loved it and hope to be back next year. Iโ€™m considering posting some pics on my IG. Since I hardly post on there.

Q: Why Tarot cards/Readings?

A: To be honest, because I was drawn to the idea at first. Now Iโ€™m realizing perhaps thereโ€™s more to it than just that. Tarot has brought me a sense of peace that keeps me grounded. By following my intuition and readings I get a real sense of myself. It gives me the self awareness I need to get through a lot of things in life that seem foggy. Itโ€™s led me to discover more about myself I didnโ€™t know could be and thus my journey to self love has unfolded in many ways. Stay tuned for more.

Anime NYC Weekend

Been excited for this to start again! Hubby and I are heading to Anime NYC for all three days. Will keep everyone updated and take pics of whatever merch we get. But, no worries. I am still working on my Dream Story. Itโ€™s a Rated M one so Iโ€™m trying to see what soundsโ€ฆenticing to say the least. Itโ€™s out of my comfort zone so please be patient everyone!

What conventions has anyone been to? We have been to comic con twice and this will be our second AnimeNYC convention. Comment below and let me know. Stay safe with tonightโ€™s full moon! Will be doing a full moon reading and posting that tomorrow as well. Happy weekend sweeties!

New Normal: Staying Home

Adjusting has been difficult to say the least. There are days things arenโ€™t difficult. You take things as they come. Unexpected turns are made and thereโ€™s so many thoughts in place. Youโ€™re just shocked you sleep through the night.

My life has been hectic. Youโ€™d think being at home meant being less busy. Not the case at all. Between decluttering the whole house and not working from home anymore with a now 2 year old. Itโ€™s impossible not to be busy! Iโ€™m also still cooking from home at least 2 times a week. I order out if possible. (Grubhub is tempting to say the least. We are so guilty of not passing up a good deal). I only go out maybe twice a month only for groceries or to step outside front for my plants and watch my husband run around with our son. Lifeโ€™s been calmer and mentally hectic more than anything.

My cyber social life has skyrocketed. Iโ€™m back to playing video games mostly ps4 and animal crossing on the switch. Binge watching anime again with my husband. Things that got me through so much in life already. Itโ€™s starting to feel like thereโ€™s not enough time in a day for everything to be done. But, I value our health and how weโ€™ve dealt through this quarantine. My husband comes home with stories of how the outside has been doing. I canโ€™t help but weirdly realize how much things around us have changed. Few months ago we were planning with friends and family to gather for a picnics and going to Central Park. Now itโ€™s animal crossing and group chats with memes and venting sessions. Daily face times to check in with each other.

Living in NYC with the virus itโ€™s hard to see an end to this. Though there are many pros and cons. It feels unreal. To not be able to leave when you want. Questioning yourself as you get ready to run an errand if itโ€™s absolutely necessary. Anyone else forget their mask while walking outside and turning around to run back to get it? (ME!) The amount of tension outside is thicker than the air itself. You feel it come off people in waves. The split second horror on peopleโ€™s faces when someone clears their throat.

Itโ€™s hard to say โ€œIโ€™m okayโ€ when things arenโ€™t like they used to be. Change sometimes can come in increments. But this was thrown at everyone and itโ€™s difficult to even handle it with grace. I hope we can all get through this.

Iโ€™ll try to post more as time goes. Probably lighter things and small successes Iโ€™ve had personally. But I just had to get this out of the way. Stay safe everyone. Much love always. Iโ€™m still active in my succulent insta @everlasting_echeverias

NYC Comic Con 2019

The adventure never ends! My husband and I have been trying out best to get out there. Save money aside to attend events together. Last time we went to comic con was 2015 so it was about time to return! I love the atmosphere, cosplays and everyone enjoying their time. The booths and exclusive items. Artists selling their artworks. It’s amazing the amount of things you can get. It’s fairly easy to spend money on things and lose track from all the awesome things that are sold! Also can’t tell you how many times we stopped different cosplayers for photos. Mostly my sister in law honestly. I preferred taking the photos and exploring the booths for cool pieces to take home. Overall, I love the experience and will probably end up going every year if possible. If you want to see a few photos I took. Check out my Instagram. Next year, I’ll bring my camera and focus on getting much better photos. Anyone else enjoy going to comic con or other social events? Let me know below. Thanks for reading!

When I frame and put up all the artwork we purchased. I’ll post them up with the artist credentials for you all to check them out. I’m all about supporting artists and their well deserved work.
